“Healthy Soil, Healthy Water, Healthy You” is the focus for The Grove at the 2019 Wood County Fair. Situated at the north end of the fairgrounds adjacent to the historic train depot and caboose, The Grove is a natural resource area designed to be a gathering space for fun and educational opportunities. A covered picnic area, shaded gazebo, and an accessible stone pathway create an inviting space for all ages. Throughout the week, join the Wood County Park District and the Wood Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) for entertaining experiences and hand-on activities. Drop by the park district tent on Monday, July 29, 1:00 – 3:00 to see the Black Swamp animal furs and skulls.
Wednesday, July 31, 1:00 – 3:00 see live Wood County reptiles.
Friday, August 2, 1:00 – 3:00 check out the seed match-up.
Stop by to pick up the clues for a fairgrounds wide scavenger hunt on Tuesday, July 30, 3:00 – 6:00 and Thursday at 1:00 complete a woodworking project with the Home Depot Kids’ Workshop.
Visit the SWCD soil tunnel, join the Rain Gutter Regatta, and learn what farmers are doing to keep the soil healthy and the water clean while growing the food we eat and the products we use.
